CBT's London Life - Random update #9

Never have I had to do sooo much personal admin ...  for those of you that may be unaware ... personal admin and I are not friends ...  it is quite possible I am actually allergic to it ....

been a funny couple of weeks, (planning the 'trip' does not allow for much time for me to live the good old high life of the last few weeks) ... aside from vaccinations, visas, hotels etc ... I have only managed to get in a couple of things of note....discovered the cutest theatre Rosemary Branch Theatre a little pub theatre between Angel and Shoreditch ... yes yes it's true I ventured further afield ...

it houses about 50 or so folk and as part of the suspense puppetry festival is showing some great yet dark shows at the moment, I saw 'Passing on' designed I guess to confront the issues faced by both those in health and the relatives of people receiving end of life care, really really moving, brought back memories of when I worked in the Hospital.  Maybe hold off visiting until something cheerier is on !!

Halcyon Gallery (a new find) ...  a lovely find ..... the bond street gallery has an amazing exhibition on currently showing a range of contemporary artists from Lorenzo Quinn (sculptor) to Pedro Paricio ...  (spanish artist only works acrylics) first time I had seen his work ...

my favourite meal this week goes to the.....delicious roast lamb and pav (yippee) I enjoyed with an amzing family on Sunday .... meeting new folk aswell ...  I love nothing more than when strangers come together by a common link ... and it feels relaxed ...  testament to the great warmth of the hosts ...

(on the subject of food I was deeeelighted that one of my old favourite mentions Spuntino has just come runner up in Timeouts best new resturaunt) ...  which also leads me to another liver damaging cocktail bar that I discovered through Timeout a few weeks ago ....Experimental Cocktail Club right in the heart of town, not too far from that old classic Piano Bar....  experiment they do but I reckon the experimenting is taken a bit too far ...  good for a novelty night ... I still prefer Purl and Piano ....

oooh I almost forgot .....  Bon Iver at Hammersmith Apollo .... sooooo not what I was expecting ... I loved For Emma, Forever Ago ....  show was captivating but probably heavier than I expected .. still thinking about how I feel about it ....

I had a great but rather too large night out in Richmond and Sheen at the Naked Turtle, where a friend was hilariously told it was a fancy dress night ...sorry P :-) anyway, this is an amazing jazz place where the waiters and waitresses are actually the band and between courses ('and cocktails) will play and sing .. put in on your must do list ....

what's on this week .....  more needles, more accomodation, more packing .... and Oxford Street lights tomorrow (where has the freakin' year gone) ...  Ice skating Natural History Museum ....  lucky enough to be invited to a pre skate before it opens to all ....  thank the lordy actually for that .. as I do crap myself and end up skating with hands over eyes ... fewer folk to crash into the better eh !

That'll do ...  I was gonna be brief ...
Take Care - x
